6 frozen bao buns
175 g planted.chicken
Vegetable oil for frying
1 medium carrot
1 small cucumber
1 spring onion
1 handful of coriander
Roasted sesame seeds

1 small onion, grated
1 garlic clove, finely chopped
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 teaspoon sesame oil
Large piece of ginger ( 3-4cm ), grated
Salt pepper
Gochujang sauce
6 tbsp sugar
2 tbsp gochujang (Korean chili paste)
2 tbsp soy sauce
2 garlic cloves, crushed
Small piece of fresh ginger ( 1-2cm ), grated
2 tbsp sesame oil

Preparation

Mix all the ingredients for the marinade with planted.chicken in a bowl. Cover and place in the refrigerator for 1 hour.

To make the sauce, put all the ingredients in a small saucepan and heat gently until the sugar melts and the sauce becomes syrupy.

Cut the carrot, cucumber and spring onion into thin julienne slices.

Toss the planted.chicken in the cornstarch until well coated.

Heat 3cm oil in a large pot or skillet over medium-high heat.

Fry the planted chicken in batches until golden brown and set aside to dry on paper towels.

In the meantime, steam the bao buns according to package instructions.

Heat the sauce again and cover the planted chicken with it. Top with sesame seeds.

Fill the steamed bao buns with planted chicken and vegetables and garnish with coriander and sesame.
